9 days Turkey Tour Itinerary – Istanbul Cappadocia Konya Pamukkale and Ephesus
Day 1: Istanbul
9 days Turkey Tour – On your arrival to the IST or Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul, our representative will welcome you at the exit gate inside of the international terminal meet our driver who hold a sign M 55 at first exit of the gate. Then you will be transferred to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the time in the city.
Day 2: Istanbul Old City Tour
After breakfast, our guide will come and meet you at the hotel and depart for a full day tour of Old City part of Istanbul. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace , Hippodrome and Grand Bazaar. End of tour back to your hotel and overnight stay in Istanbul.
Day 3: Free day in Istanbul (*B)
After breakfast free day for you to enjoy Istanbul on your own, you can visit underground cistern, Spice bazaar and also you can join bosphorus cruise. Overnight stay in Istanbul.
Day 4: Northern Cappadocia Tour(B*L)
You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul around 5 am and transfered to the airport to take a flight to Cappadocia, on your arrival you will be dropped to your agency office to join your group and we start the day with a splendid view over the region from Goreme Panorama then you will be amazed by the biggest monastery complex Open Air Museum which has many beautiful churches with fantastic wall paintings. Tour continues to pottery town Avanos divided by Red River, the longest river in Turkey and hometown of traditional carpet weaving. After having your lunch you will visit Fairy Chimney Valley and Imagination Valley where you will enjoy lunar landscape. End of the tour transfer to your hotel in Cappadocia.
Day 5: Southern Cappadocia Tour(*B *L)
Optional balloon tour available for this morning. Your guide will take you from your hotel around 10:00- 10:15 am then you will join your tour. Your visit start with Uchisar Castle, the biggest fairy chimney used as a fortress by many civilizations. Then be ready to hike about 4km in beautiful Red Valley passing through Rose valley discovering beautiful rock churches, arriving to Cavusin village, one of the ancient settlement of the region with its cave houses. For lunch you are going to traditional Turkish restaurant. In the afternoon you will be amazed Underground City widest of the regions served many centuries as refuge for the local people and saved early Christians from Roman persecution. Then you will visit Pigeon Valley with its lovely pigeons still living in pigeons houses which has a wonderful view over Uchisar castle. Finally you will drive to Three Beauties Valley with its beautiful view over Urgup town famous with its wine factories. End of the day, transfer back to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 6: Cappadocia to Pamukkale via Konya by semi private minivan or car (*B)
After breakfast, meet your driver and he will take you to Pamukkale via Konya. We will stop and visit Konya Mevlana museum and city. After Konya city and luch you will keep going to Pamukkale and overnight stay. Total journey will be 8 hours.
Day 7: Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour(*B *L)
Around 09:30 – 09:45 am we will pick you up from your hotel and join your group for full day tour of Pamukkale meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site contains hot springs and travertine, terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water with its temperate climate for most of the year. We will also visit the ancient city Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd century BC, and people came to soothe their ailments, with many of them retiring or dying here. The large Necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, including the Sarcophagus of Marcus Aurelius. You will have also the chance to swim in Cleopatra Swimming Pool. You will have your lunch during the excursion. End of the day we will drive you to Kusadasi (3hours) and will be transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi.
Day 8: Ephesus Tour(*B *L)
Your guide will pick you up from the hotel around 09:00-9:30 am. You will start your visit with Artemis Temple, city ruins as Hadrian Temple, Celcius library, theater, hamams, passing through old harbor path. Then you will feel the holy atmosphere of exceptional Isabey Mosque. You will have your lunch in a traditional Turkish restaurant. In the afternoon you will visit House of Virgin Mary where she spent her last 5 years, which is recognized by Vatican as pilgrimage destination for Christians, visited by Pope Leo XII and Benedict XVI.
End of the tour we will transfer to Izmir Airport (60minutes) to take the flight (1hour 10min) to Istanbul. Upon your arrival in Istanbul, our agents will meet you at the exit gate of domestic terminal baring a board your names written on and you will be transferred to your hotel.
Day 9: Istanbul, departure(*B)
According to your flight time we will transfer you to IST or Sabiha Gokcen Airport and you will do self check-in.
