Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Izmir from Istanbul and Join Ephesus Tour(*L)
Around 05:00-05:15 am, we pick you up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer you to Ataturk Airport to take a flight (1 hour) to Izmir. Please check in for your flight by yourself with your passport and e-ticket, which we sent to you at the time of reservation. On arrival in Izmir, you are transferred to our agency office and start a full-day tour of Ephesus with your guide and your group. You start your visit with Artemis temple, which is one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, city ruins of Ephesus including Hadrian Temple, Celcius library, theater, and Turkish hamams passing through the old harbor path. Then you feel the holy atmosphere of the exceptional Isabey Mosque. You will have your lunch in a traditional Turkish restaurant.
In the afternoon you visit the House of the Virgin Mary where she spent her last 5 years. This is recognized by the Vatican as a pilgrimage destination for Christians, visited by Pope Leo XII and Benedict XVI.
End of the day transfer back to the hotel and overnight stay in Kusadasi.
Please note: The tour ends approximately at 4.00 pm. You are treated to an optional leather fashion show. If you are not interested in, please inform your guide and you are transferred to your hotel.
Day 2: Pamukkale and Hierapolis Tour & Fly Back to Istanbul (*B *L)
Around 08:00-08:30 am, we pick you up from your hotel and join your group for a full-day tour of Pamukkale meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish. It is a natural site containing hot springs and travertines. White terraces are made of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water with its temperate climate for most of the year. We also visit the ancient city Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd century BC, and people came to soothe their ailments. The large Necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, including the Sarcophagus of Marcus Aurelius. You have a chance to swim in Cleopatra Swimming Pool while your free time there. You are going to have your lunch in a traditional Turkish restaurant. End of the tour we transfer to Cardak Airport to take the flight to Istanbul (1hr15min). After arrival, you are transferred to your hotel in Istanbul.
