Ephesus Museum:

The Ephesus Archaeological Museum is in Selcuk just 1 km away from the ancient city of Ephesus. It houses finds from the nearby Ephesus excavation site. Its best-known exhibit is the statue of Artemis retrieved from the temple of the goddess in Ephesus. Extensive renovations on the museum were finished in November 2014.

Seven sleepers:

Ephesus is believed to be the city of the Seven Sleepers. The story of the Seven Sleepers, who are considered to be saints by both Catholic and Orthodox Christians and whose story is also mentioned in the Qur'an [59], tells that they were persecuted because of their belief in God and that they slept in a cave near Ephesus for centuries.

Terrace Houses:

You will be glad you spent the additional fee for this "extra" tour through Ephesus' living history. Half an hour will fly by leaving you wishing for more time to see the mosaics and experience the feel of these ancient hillside homes. As you exit this section of the tour, take advantage of the great views of the city to snap some photographs. Its a pity that the exterior of the building is an eyesore that detracts from the feel of the city.

The Isabey Mosque:

The Isabey Mosque (Turkish: Isa Bey Camii), constructed in 1374-75, is one of the oldest and most impressive works of architectural art remaining from the Anatolian beyliks (separately governed regions). The mosque is situated on the outskirts of the Ayaslug Hills in Selcuk, Izmir.

The Village of Sirince:

Sirince (pronounced Shirinje) is a village of 500 inhabitants in Izmir Province, Turkey, located about 8 kilometers (5 miles) east of the town of Selcuk. Sirince was settled when Ephesus was abandoned in the 15th century but most of what one sees today dates from the 19th century. There is a story that the village was settled by freed Greek slaves who named the village Sirkince (meaning "Ugly" in Turkish) to deter others from following them. The village's name was changed to Sirince (meaning "Pleasant") in 1926 by the governor of the Izmir Province.

Camel Wrestling:

The annual camel wrestling championship takes place at Selcuk-Pamucak (Ephesus Beach) in January.

Railway Museum:

In the village of Camlik is the Camlik Railway Museum.

Additional info about tour

- During the tour we are going to take you to one of the best restaurants in the Ephesus region. We choose special places away from the crowds.

- While you are in Ephesus you will have the opportunity to taste vegetables, olive oil dishes, and kebabs from the Aegean Sea region.

- First Travel kindly asks travelers to be aware that the site is established on a small hill, with the entrance located at the top and the end at the bottom making for a pleasant meandering downhill walk through the ruins.

- The walking trip in Ephesus lasts about 2 hours.

- You should have at least 1 bottle of water.

- Visit the toilets before exploring Ephesus Ancient City.

- You will walk down the slope slowly and our guide will slow down the walk when needed.

- Walking surfaces within the site vary from flat, slippery marble stone to gravel even surfaces to uneven stone and cobblestone surfaces.

- You will walk up a few steps at some sites within Ephesus, such as the Library of Celsus and the Terrace Houses, but this is at the visitors discretion.

- Since this is a walking trip through Ephesus, participants will be on their feet for approximately 2 hours. We recommend you to watch your step at all times in order to avoid injuries. Also, follow the guide so as not to lose the group as Ephesus is quite crowded with groups at high season.
